Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the statutory framework that sets the standards that all Early Years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children are ready for school and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.

We use Tapestry, an easy to use online learning journal to record and document your child's learning and development, and urge you as Parents to do the same to build a shared journey of your child's learning and development.

Through Tapestry, written observations, photos and videos capturing your child's challenges and achievements can be securly shared between home and Nursery to document their progress, and future learning and development needs.

Your child's future developments are planned for as the unique individual they are, through assessment of their skills, and progress already made which has been documented by both Nursery and you at home ensuring you contribute in their learning and development. The plan is easily accessible to you and highlights the skill your child will be working towards, the opportunities which can be provided, and the difference developing the skill will make to your child's life. Easy access to your child's plan enables you to see what your child is working towards during their time at Nursery, in order for you to provide experiences for them at home linked to their current development needs. Giving vast opportunities both at Nursery and at home will support your child in making progress and reaffirming their skills they learn. Through observations you and Nursery make on experiences your child has had both in Nursery and at home inform the future developments.
